Buying Locally produced FOOD in Norway.

There is a Facebook group here in Steigen, Norway called #rekoringen that is where local farmers and producers of food advertise what they have available for sale.

Today I drove to a farm on Engeløy and got my produce straight from the source. (only that makes me happy) I like to buy locally produced food because it helps the community I live in.

Farmers don't make a lot and the support from the community is a must.

I buy eggs from a neighbour, Moose meat every fall, Cow meat from a cow farmer, fresh fish from fishermen in the area or from the local fishing industry.

To me, it is important to support small business owners in my area. I also like that it helps the environment.
